Post subject: Project: Fyber | Finally Built! [1/18]
Well after a long year of living with my Vaio, 4 reformats, 3 major viruses, and countless errors, It's time for me to begin my new project.

As many of you know, I recieved the following hardware for christmas:

AbitIC7-Max3 (The best pentium 4 motherboard period)
Ati Radeon 9800PRO 128MB (Ati's 3rd fastest videocard)

And recently, Xoxide.com has generously shipped me:

Lian-Li PC-70
Aspire 500Watt PSU (Not shipped yet)

This means the beginning of my first custom built, a huge step away from the OEMs that usually make my computers.

Here are the specs:

Intel Pentium 2.4B Processor
Abit IC7-Max3 Motherboard
Ati Radeon 9800 PRO 128mb Videocard
512mb samsung PC2100 DDR
80GB 5400RPM Seagate Hard drive
Pioneer DVR-A04 DVD Writer
Asus 52X CDROM

[dead pictures removed]

I installed the I/O shield, Motherboard Standoffs, and a PCI expansion slot for Firewire and USB. All i'm waiting for is the PSU and then I will get started building.

Questions/Comments?

Be-yoooteful.

Only thing is, I'd throw out the extra cash and get the 2.4C, as it has hyperthreading and an 800mhz FSB...but still, nice system.

I have it in plastic right now so it dosent get dusty Very Happy

I'd splurge on the 2.4C, but I'd rather hold out until a Socket 478 Prescott becomes available. The 2.4B i've also heard has great potential when paired with a nice 875P motherboard like mine. Since I'll be watercooling very soon, hopefully I can achieve a nice overclock before I phase it out.

As soon as my PSU gets here, I'm building this beast.

Well here it is. My Lian-Li is finally complete. After 3 days of building, frying a hard drive, using a terrible powersupply to just get it to turn on, It's finished, and I've got a ton of information/pics for it.

Specs:
Pentium 4 2.4B @ 2.8Ghz Stable
Abit IC7-Max3
Ati Radeon 9800 PRO 128MB
512MB Generic Samsung DDR266, running 1:1 @ 2-5-2-2, Game Accelerator-"Turbo"
Western Digital 160GB SATA Hard Disk
Pioneer DVR-A04 DVD-RW Drive
Asus 52X CD-ROM Drive
Antec Smartblue 350W
Lian-Li PC-70
NEC MultiSync 1700V 17" LCD

I know the drives/keyboard/mouse look ugly, I'm getting a set of Lian-Li Universal Drive Covers/Cooler Master Q-Alloy Keyboard/Microsoft Intelli 2.0 or MX700 very soon. I'm upgrading to Prescott and better ram as well over the summer.

And now onto the pictures. I took tons of em, so beware.

A picture of my full setup

A picture of the inside of my Lian. PSU will be sleeved soon, and the wires don't look as bad as they are (most are tucked behind mobo tray)

A picture of my Western Digital HDD. And yes, it does plug in through a regular molex, so no wierd power connectors.

A picture of the back of my Lian. Yes, there are 6 fan spots on the back.

A night picture of the back

A night picture of the powersupply and OTES leds. You can see the 9800 Pro in the lower left hand corner.

Another night picture with the sidepanel open.

I'm always up for comments/suggestions/questions. I'll take clearer night pictures tonight, and I have a few CCFLs here that I'll put in temporarily.

And to give you an idea of my next project...

And THANK YOU sp00ks for the image host.
